Use

SOUS COUCHE POUR CHAUX EXTRA lime primer is an eco-friendly water-based mat primer low in VOC. SOUSCOUCHE POUR CHAUX EXTRA lime primer is NOT a sealer, but rather its function is to help adhere our lime-based products to a surface that is not lime-based or on an old lime-based surface which is slightly flour. SOUS COUCHE POUR CHAUX EXTRA lime primer may also be used as a base-primer coat for mineral paintings and coatings in the event of badly fixed funds.

Be aware for smooth paintings because the aspect of SOUS COUCHE POUR CHAUX EXTRA lime primer when dry is slightly rough.

Composition

Water-based glue emulsion with fine natural sand. Made from a selection of non-toxic and biodegradable ingredients that are eco and health friendly. Free from asbestos, formaldehyde and heavy metals.

category. A/g VOC limit 30 g/l (2010). This product contains a maximum of 15 g/litre of VOC.

Application

Surface preparation

Indoor and outdoor surfaces should be in conformity with the current standards in force. Surfaces must be homogeneously absorbent, sound, clean, dry, non-friable and deprived of salts, moisture and moulds.

Because SOUS COUCHE POUR CHAUX EXTRA lime primer is NOT a sealer:

– Semi-gloss or gloss paints must be sanded or removed before applying SOUS COUCHE POUR CHAUX EXTRA lime primer.

– Plasterboards, plaster blocks, lightweight concrete blocks, wood, as wall as material with varying degrees of absorption must be primed with a water-based primer before applying SOUS COUCHE POUR CHAUX EXTRA lime primer (so as to avoid spectrum effects or marks when the finishing effects are applied).

Application

SOUS COUCHE POUR CHAUX EXTRA lime primer must be thinned with water, adding approximately 50% water (2 volumes of SOUS COUCHE POUR CHAUX EXTRA lime primer for 1 volume of water) according to the porosity of the surface. Mix well before application and continually mix during use to ensure the aggregate remains in suspension.

SOUS COUCHE POUR CHAUX EXTRA lime primer is best applied with a brush, rather than a rolled or sprayed. Apply in wide strokes in a criss-cross motion while not overbrushing. The object is to apply an even coat of aggregate. The dried finish should feel like sandpaper, with the texture evenly distributed, and no bald spots. Only one coat is needed if applied properly.

If applying Sous Couche pour chaux Extra lime primer to a non-porous surface, then thin with less water for better adhesion. If applying Sous Couche pour chaux Extra lime primer to an absorbent surface, then it can be thinned with more water. Thin Sous Couche pour chaux Extra lime primer with at least 30% water and do not exceed 100% water; otherwise the product efficacy will be compromised.

Drying time

Approximately 24 hrs depending on the absorbency of the substrate and the ambient humidity.

Coverage

100 g to 200 g / m², depending on the surface porosity.

Practical advice

Clean all tools with water immediately after use.

Apply and store at a temperature of +5°C to +30°C (40°F or 85°F).

Do not apply to hot or damp surfaces or those directly exposed to the sun, or in the wind or the rain.

Protect the surrounding areas from splashes or clean with water immediately.

Health caution

SOUS COUCHE POUR CHAUX EXTRA lime primer is eco and health friendly. However, please take the following precautions: in case of eye contact, rinse thoroughly in water and consult a specialist if any symptoms persist. Keep out of reach of children.

Storage advice

SOUS COUCHE POUR CHAUX EXTRA lime primer will keep in its non-diluted state for one year in its original closed packaging, away from frost and high temperatures. We recommend that you only mix up enough SOUS COUCHE POUR CHAUX EXTRA lime primer for one or two days work because the added water will decrease its shelf life.

Packaging

SOUS COUCHE POUR CHAUX EXTRA lime primer is conditioned in recyclable plastic buckets of 1 kg, 5 kg and 25 kg.
